- What counts as a “message”?
- Every reply your AI assistant generates. Visitors' messages don't count, and neither do staff replies from your inbox. Realistic conversations average 3–5 AI messages.
- What if I go over the limit?
- Nothing breaks. We'll email you when you cross 80% and again at 100%, and your assistant keeps working. Overage is metered at the next plan's rate; most teams just upgrade.
- Can I switch plans mid-month?
- Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and prorate to the day. Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle.
- Do I need my own AI provider key?
- Yes, and you've got two easy ways to do it. Bring your own key from OpenAI, Anthropic or Google and your AI usage bills straight to them at their cost. Or let us provide and manage a key for you on pre-paid credit, with optional automatic top-ups so you never run dry. Your plan fee covers the platform; the AI usage sits with whichever key you choose.
- Do you mark up the AI usage?
- No. There's no mark-up on your AI and no per-message or per-resolution fee. Many tools bundle the AI and add a margin, or charge around a dollar per conversation, which adds up fast. With comxbot you pay your provider their rate directly, so costs scale with provider prices, not our margin.
- Do I need a credit card to start?
- No. The 7-day free trial doesn't ask for one. We only collect a card if you decide to continue.
- Which plan should an SMB pick?
- Most independent plumbers, salons, garages, gyms and single-location shops start on Starter (3 assistants, web + email, WhatsApp via Twilio at Growth tier). Multi-location or franchise teams that need handoff routing, analytics and custom branding go straight to Growth. Agencies and multi-workspace operators want Pro for the API + white-label.
- Do I need the custom plan to get guided learning or ESOL?
- No. ThinkGuide guided learning, learner profiles, the teacher prompt builder and education guardrails are all on Pro at a fixed price, and the ESOL and apprenticeship bots and SEND accessibility modes are on every plan. The custom Education & Training tier is only for the heavier governance, colleges, training providers and schools that need safeguarding with DSL escalation, SSO, official UK data sources, the Clearing wizard and annual invoice or PO billing.
