Single sign-on (SSO)

Let your team sign in with your existing company or college login.

What SSO is

Single sign-on means your team uses one company login to get into comxbot, the same one they use for everything else. There's no separate password to remember, and when someone leaves, removing their main account removes their access here too.

It's the sort of thing IT teams like for security and tidiness. Most businesses and colleges already have an identity provider, like Microsoft Entra, Google Workspace or Okta, and SSO connects comxbot to it.

Setting it up

Go to Settings, then SSO. You'll connect comxbot to your identity provider using SAML, which is the standard most providers support. comxbot shows you the details to paste into your provider, and you paste a couple of values back.

This is usually a job for whoever manages your IT. It's a one-time setup, and once it's done your whole team signs in through your provider.

Who needs it

SSO is most useful for larger teams, and it's often required by a college or company security policy. Smaller teams are perfectly fine with the standard email or Google sign-in, so don't feel you have to set it up.

If your organisation requires SSO before staff can use new tools, this is the page that gets you approved.
