Learner profiles
Remember each learner's support needs and preferences across sessions.
What a learner profile is
Every learner is different. A learner profile stores how an individual likes to receive information, like plain English, step-by-step replies or read-aloud, so the assistant uses that format every time without them having to ask.
It also tracks support needs and how confident a learner is feeling across a topic, which helps tutors see who might need a hand.
Why it helps
For a learner with additional needs, not having to set their preferences again each time is a small thing that makes a big difference. The experience just fits them from the start.
For staff, the profiles build a picture over time. You can see which learners are finding a subject hard and step in early, rather than waiting for a problem to surface.
Privacy
Learner profiles hold personal information, so they're covered by the same data rules as everything else. Only your staff can see them, data is minimised and retention settings apply.
For colleges this supports your SEND and safeguarding duties, because you're recording what a learner needs in order to help them, and nothing more.
