Billing
Plans, monthly vs yearly billing, what the fee covers, and how AI usage is paid for.
Plans and pricing
There are three self-serve tiers plus a custom Education & Training tier. Starter is £19 a month (3 assistants, 2,000 AI messages), Growth is £49 a month (10 assistants, 10,000 messages, every channel and automation) and Pro is £149 a month (25 assistants, 50,000 messages, API, white-label, custom domain, multi-workspace and the guided-learning toolkit).
The Education & Training tier is custom-priced for colleges, training providers and schools that need the governance pack: safeguarding with DSL escalation, SSO, the Clearing wizard and official UK data sources. It's sold annually by invoice or purchase order, so talk to sales@comxbot.com.
Every paid plan includes a 7-day free trial and no card is needed to start.
Monthly or yearly
You can pay monthly or yearly on any self-serve plan. Yearly billing is two months free (about 17% off) and is charged annually in advance. Pick Monthly or Yearly on the billing page when you subscribe.
Switching from monthly to yearly later is easy from the billing page, and upgrades prorate to the day.
What the plan fee covers (and what it doesn't)
The plan fee covers the platform only. Your AI usage is separate and there is never a comxbot mark-up on it, and no per-message or per-resolution fee.
You either bring your own AI provider key (OpenAI, Anthropic or Google) and pay them their cost directly, or use a comxbot-managed key on pre-paid credit at cost. WhatsApp and SMS, if you use them, run on your own Twilio account. See the AI provider keys guide for detail.
Understanding usage limits
Messages: the monthly allowance counts the AI replies your assistant generates. Visitor messages and your team's inbox replies don't count. A typical conversation is 3 to 5 AI messages.
Knowledge sources: each connected source (URL set, PDF, Drive folder, manual set) counts as one regardless of how many pages it contains. Assistants: each configured assistant counts whether published or in draft.
Overages: nothing breaks at the cap. We email you at 80% and 100%, the assistant keeps working, and overage is metered at the next plan's rate. Most teams simply upgrade.
Monitor usage in Settings then Usage.
Invoices and payment
Self-serve billing is managed through Stripe. Go to Settings then Billing to view invoices, update payment methods or change plans.
Payment methods: credit or debit card for self-serve plans. The Education & Training tier supports invoice-based payment with NET-30 terms and purchase orders.
Proration: upgrading mid-cycle charges a prorated amount for the rest of the current period. Downgrades take effect at the next cycle.
Cancellation: cancel anytime from the billing page; your workspace keeps working until the end of the current period.
