API keys

Connect comxbot to your own systems, or bring your own AI provider key.

What API keys are for

An API key is a secret code that lets one system talk to another securely. In comxbot there are two kinds. You can create a comxbot key so your own software can read and write data, and you can add your own AI provider key if you'd rather use your own account with OpenAI, Anthropic or Google.

Most people never need these. They're here for teams that want a deeper, custom integration than webhooks alone.

Creating and managing keys

Go to Settings, then API keys. Create a key, give it a clear name so you remember what it's for, and copy it somewhere safe. You only see the full key once, so store it carefully.

If a key is ever exposed, delete it and create a new one. Treat keys like passwords: don't paste them into emails or share them more widely than you need to.
